Hello, my name is Brian Slingerland. For more than 12 years I have been providing exceptional computer and data center hardware support to various clients while working for leading service providers as a field service engineer and as a dedicated onsite engineer. Past clients have included retail establishments, media outlets, drug and insurance companies, universities and government agencies while specializing in the needs of major financial institutions. For more than 9 years I was dedicated to providing onsite solutions to a major global financial institution and eventually, the company of succesion at their request. The scope of my work included enterprise server break/fix duties, new equipment deployment, relocations, decommissioning and recertifying, server builds and manufacturer required data center certifications. I have also supported data center build-outs and disaster recovery sites by providing cabling support, rack and stack for server, network and storage components. As the team lead for Decision One and the site lead for Sun Microsystems, I was responsible in assisting with the management of five additional engineers and providing an interface with the customer by participating in meetings and conference along with various customer groups for all phases of daily site management. I was also responsible for daily status reports, weekly and monthly duty and call logs as well as logistics reports along with providing standby and weekend duty scheduling for the team.
I am now available for new opportunities. As a result of the general economic environment, I will be making a change and am open to considering a full time field or onsite position or a contract to hire position and will be available right away.
